Lexington Elopements 2025: A Year in Review

Reflecting on a remarkable year

If we haven’t met yet, I’m Paige – the planner and photographer behind Elope Lexington. 2025 was an incredible year for me and for the amazing couples who trusted me with their elopements. After the uncertainties of the last few years, I saw couples lean into meaningful, intimate celebrations that reflected their personalities and made Kentucky’s Bluegrass region the backdrop for their love stories.
Here’s my personal look back at some of the 2025 elopements that stole my heart.

Winter splendor at The Loudoun House

  • Lindsey & Jon – December 12, 2025 (Friday) – We ended the year with a bang at The Loudoun House, a stately Gothic Revival mansion in Lexington. Picture candlelight, cozy blankets for guests and a first look on that sweeping staircase – it was pure magic. I loved capturing their joy against the dramatic architecture.

  • Barbara & Lloyd – September 12, 2025 (Friday) – Earlier in the fall, Barbara and Lloyd also chose The Loudoun House for their vows. They added rich maroon and gold accents, and the late‑summer blooms made the grounds feel like an enchanted garden.

  • Abigail & Grant – September 20, 2025 (Saturday) – Yes, The Loudoun House makes another appearance! Abigail and Grant mixed classic elegance with casual fun, finishing their ceremony with a picnic on the lawn.

Historic charm at The Bodley‑Bullock House

The Bodley‑Bullock House in downtown Lexington was built in 1814 and offered an intimate, urban backdrop for two of my couples:

  • Kurt & Marti – October 15, 2025 (Wednesday) – These history buffs exchanged vows in the parlor and rang in married life in the courtyard. The autumn light on the brick and ivy was dreamy.

  • Lydia & Travis – November 1, 2025 (Saturday) – Lydia and Travis opted for a moody November palette, vintage décor and even included their dog in the ceremony. Talk about personal touches!

Botanical splendor: gardens and waterfalls

  • Kristen & Doug – October 4, 2025 (Saturday) and Jennifer & Jim – October 18, 2025 (Saturday) – Both couples chose Stony Point Botanical Gardens, a hidden gem near Frankfort. Kristen and Doug embraced autumn with burnt‑orange florals, while Jennifer and Jim went with lush greenery and a string quartet. It shows how versatile the same venue can be.

  • Karissa & Julian – October 26, 2025 (Sunday) and Melissa & Nick – October 19, 2025 (Sunday) – Yuko‑En on the Elkhorn in Georgetown became an oasis for these couples. Koi ponds, arched bridges and origami cranes made for a serene, Japanese‑inspired setting.

  • Samantha & Joseph – November 8, 2025 (Saturday) – Flat Lick Falls Recreational Area in McKee delivered jaw‑dropping natural drama. We hiked to the waterfall for their ceremony and exchanged vows with roaring water and fall foliage behind us.

Botanical bliss at the University of Kentucky Arboretum

  • Jessica & Stephen – September 27, 2025 (Saturday) – Jessica and Stephen chose the Rose Garden in the University of Kentucky Arboretum for their elopement. Surrounded by ornamental grasses and wildflowers, the space felt like our own secret garden.

Cozy at‑home elopement

  • Kim & Chris – November 24, 2025 (Monday) – Not every elopement needs a formal venue. Kim and Chris invited me to their Airbnb in Lexington for an intimate ceremony followed by brunch. String lights, homemade cinnamon rolls and heartfelt vows made it unforgettable.

What I learned about eloping in Lexington

  • Intimacy is in. Couples in 2025 opted for guest lists of 0–20 people and focused on genuine moments rather than grand productions.

  • Weekdays are wonderful. Holding your elopement on a weekday often means quieter venues and more flexibility.

  • Local charm wins. From historic homes to state parks, Lexington offers a variety of backdrops. Choosing a location with personal meaning makes the day even more special.
